Finally Back on the web
Back Dated History
The following excerpts are listed below in date order collated into one blog as my internet has been down for a while.

Picking Mak’s up from kindy she was having her nappy changed when I arrived, as she was put on the ground the lady said someone was here to see her so she came running out and her little face just lit up when she saw me running at full pace into my arms that I almost fell backwards. Then she ran clear across the room to grab her bag as my aging knee’s struggling to lift the weight back onto my feet. Scooping her up in my arms with her bag snug on her back we walked out the akward entrance to the kindy and to the car.
On leaving we took the usual route home around the back roads and stopped off at Foodtown so I would have something to feed the little rascal. Now as we were grocery shopping if you’ve ever seen the Movie Shrek 2 when Puss n’ Boots pulls his sad face, that’s exactly what I got from Makayla when I told her she wouldn’t get any lollies.
Well it was home straight after the shopping and to start straight into the dinner while maks went around her usual destruction of my lounge and bedrooms. A nice creamy chicken and mushroom pasta dinner before Stef and Betty popped by to drop of a dress my Aunty Betty purchased while in Hong Kong just recently. Maks seemed to like it when I put it on her to see if it fitted her which it did perfectly.
She was in bed relatively early just after 8pm which allowed my an early night also, until she came waddling into my room at 1am with her precious penguin tucked under her arm. She woke me as she was climbing up on to my bed and dropped the penguin on my head to free up a hand to pull herself up. She woke at 7 demanding I turn the tv on so I reached over and handed her the remote and lay back down in bed as she flicked through the channels until she got bored and we decided to get some breakfast.
Today we went up the Auckland Sky Tower, unknowling it was their 10th birthday, so it coincided well as they had lots of fun exciting things on to keep her entertained. She was a brave little soul more so than her dad as I got nervous looking over the edge as she planted her face hard up against the window. We were able to see the roads and building well below and long out onto the horizon with Makayla intrigued seeing all below her but not fully understanding what she was looking at just that there was lots to see and that was enough for her. I sensed her getting tired so we decided we’d spent a good time there and was time to get some lunch and put her down for a nap.
SUNDAY: the arrival of the grandies, Mom and Dad flew in from Hong Kong today, but before that we stopped off at my aunties with Kaz and Danika running around and playing games and showing off to each other. Karyn checked the flight and it was running early so we quickly jumped into the cars and drove out to the observation point to watch the planes land. We got pretty close to Cathay Pacific flight CX107 as it flew in (the photo doesn’t reflect exactly how close it was) to land with Danika and Makayla watching ever so intently.
The kids sat poised for their grandies to walk through customs into the waiting area where they almost pounced on them with Makayla running up to dad with her penguin looking up saying “I got penguin” as she lifted her arms. We came back home where the kids played together while I cooked them both lunch before we all went and did our own things before I dropped maks home.
I hate having to leave her when dropping her to Donne, she never makes it easy for me but I can’t stay and she can’t go, So we have to quietly (touchwood) go our own ways knowing that we’ll make up for it later in the week with more fun filled times.

Not too sure what time of morning that Maks came strolling into my room yesterday morning but climbed up onto my bed and we both went back to sleep until the sun came up when we layback as she watched tv and I snuggled back into my pillow then we were woken by a helicopter. I jumped out of bed to show maks the helicopter up close as recalled when I heard the blades that they were going to be installing something on top of the ANZ building across the road from us. She was pointing at the helicopter in wonderment as she’d never been so close to one before, so we quickly changed her nappy and dressed so we could pop down and take a closer look. We came back up stairs and waited for the helicopter to fly out and holding maks closely so she didn’t get scared we watched it fly up and over the ANZ tower. She got a little scared but was fine with me next to her so the next time it flew we went outside to watch it fly up and over our heads and maks pointed her eyes towards the sky.
Shortly after that we popped down to see Kaz and Danika for a few mins while they got ready as we were going to foodtown for the weekly grocery shop. Maks was screaming across the isles yelling “Auntie Kaz, Kaz!!” followed by “Where’s Danika?”
Coming home Kaz and Danika came up after that and played for hours together with the occaisional disagreement between them. They just had so much fun it was hilarious watching them and now that they can both talk quite well they understand each other and can talk to each other, a beautiful and fun sight to watch.
Kaz and Danika left just after 2pm and maks and I sat down on the couch and rested together before Donne called to arrange a time to pick maks up. Abit unfortunate as Donne was only 30 mins away and she fell asleep about 5 minus after I finished the call so when Donne got here I did a quick nappy change and got her down to the car park for Donne to take her home via a little shopping at Botany.

Maks Update
Picked Makayla up a little earlier today after a terrible round of golf it was the embrace of your kid that takes all those worries away. I arrived at her kindy just after 4pm and hid behind a wall to see how she plays with the other kids but she caught my face as I quickly tried to duck out of the way but I heard her scream “Daddy!!!” and came running over only to ask me for a lollipop.
We jumped in the car and off home as I had to pick something up from the Golf shop and maks had lots of fun hitting the golf ball around the shop. About half an hour after getting home maks was just resting with me on the couch after a few stories when Aunty Kaz and Cousin Danika walked in the door and it was all go from there.
The two jumped on the beds, pulled out all the toys, ran from one room to another, screaming, laughing and giggling as they went about their fun. Karyn had brought some pre-made bolognaise with her so we cooked it for the kids as they sat together eating and laughing as we watched the playhouse channel (some kids channel program).
Both Makayla and Danika love penguins so I sat them down to watch the Movie Happy Feet (an animated movie) which they screamed “PENGUIN !! PENGUIN !!” too.
I also played the Sound of Music soundtrack for Danika as she sang and danced while Kaz read Hop on Pop to Maks.
After Danika and Kaz left maks turned to the tv and saw the wiggles and requested I change the channel to Golf, I replied there was no golf on tv scheduled which made her very upset so had to rewatch happy feet to calm her down where at that point she was getting tired so I read a few more stories (wasn’t given an option) before she fell asleep on my shoulder and I transferred her to bed allowing me to type this up now.
