33rd America's Cup

While the time and place for the next America's Cup is yet still be be released it is rumoured to be in 2009 which does favour the Swiss team and doesn't allow much time for new syndicateseg. The British to prepare well enough in time.

Team New Zealand are somewhat ok with the decision with the main significant change is looking at longer boats and increasing their overall length another 10feet to 90 ft (27.5 meters) from the current 80 ft (24 meters).
The change is a breathe of fresh air as the current boats have been brought to the brink of their evolutionary development. The longer boats would mean faster sailing races where boats are able toincrease their waterline length and sail at higher speeds through the course based on the average 8-10 knotts of wind experienced at this years cup series.

Will we enact the Big boat sailing of KZ7? currently on display for several years in the viaduct basin? Could be used as a tune up boat perhaps, still much is to be decided by Alinghi.
For now we just sit back and wait.....
