2006 Augusta Masters

The first round has been completed and NZ's Michael Campbell is 8 off the lead behind current leader board top spot holder Vijay Singh with a 5 under par after the first day.
Michael's first round started rather steady with a par on the first a birdy on the second then par's straight through to the 7th where he found another birdy on 8th. but closed with a double on the 9th leaving him even par for the front nine. The back nine however brought a par on the first then a double tap of bogies over the following two holes a par and bogey before closing out with pars to finish opening day at 3 over for the round. We shall bring you further updates as they become available ...

Jack Nicholas also let his grandson (whom was his caddie) finish off his last putt on the 18th hole drilling a 6ft putt to the cheers of the crowd.
