Maksupdate October 29th 2007

I met with Donne and her friend from work and we had lunch at Gaucho's then popped out to highland park to catch up with Donne's cousin Jonothan before picking Maks up at kindy. When I arrived I parked my car and stepping out I saw maks riding (racing) on a tricycle and going at some speed. I pushed the button to lock my car and she heard the noise recognising it immediately and came to very prompt stop stood up and turned her head seeing me walk to the front gate. She screamed "my daddy" in extreame excitement and bolted to meet me at the front door when I arrived. She ran into my leg followed by a crushing embrace as she didn't even allow me time to bend down. I wrapped my arms around her and gave her big hug then the moment i put her down on the ground she quickly grabbed my bag and started to walk me out the door.
As per normal the moment we pulled out of the driveway she asked where Pohpoh, danika, Aunty Kaz and her penguin were before asking to see the train (we usually pass trains sometimes on the route home but they are at the back end of the trip never the beginning).

Once home I now recall a total memory blank, think we just hung out at home.

Saturday morning we were up and off to buy some new shoe's as she's out grown most of the shoes i have, and seeing as we had a haircut booked in at Rodney Wayne it was near the Warehouse so was able to kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.
She was an absolute gem at the hair dressers as this little person sat still in the chair while she had a trim (sorry no perm or colouring this time). I think the staff there loved seeing her as it makes a nice change for them i spose.

Then it was back home to enjoy the rest of the weekend of temper tantrums.

Now it's going to be far too many days till I see her again due to my roster this week but I will store up a big hug for her in the meantime.

Maks update October 23rd 2007

It was a long day on saturday for the little tot as she had a Kindy friends b/day to go to and then straight afterwards we were off to the Thomas the Tank Engine show at the north shore events centre. We were seated on the floor but when the show started everyone stood up so we couldn't see much and the kids (maks and cousin Danika) were struggling to see the stage so we moved up to the back into the stands where we could sit from afar but see the stage perfectly so the kids sat next to each other holding hands and putting their arms around eachother (so cute).
At intermission the kids started climbing the seats and hassling a 5 years girl by running up to her making faces and then running away.
I'm not too sure what the exact story line was but I know that Thomas, Percy (or Gordon) came out onto the stage twirled around and then went off. Each time the trains left the stage maks would turn to me shrugging her shoulders in confusion asking where the trains had gone. I had to reassure her they would come back.
By the end of the show maks was close to being a complete write-off for just as soon as I put her in the car seat and told her she could close her eyes and take a nap that she crashed. The next time she woke was the next morning with a solid 12 hours sleep or just under. So come morning she was ready to go.
Sunday we went to visit Simon and Yoni and had a bbq after she'd spent the morning playing with Danika. Monday was relatively quiet, must've been cos I have recollectias to what we did. I do know whe had a good 2 hour nap on the couch cos there was nothing good on the tv :-)

My first guitar Take II

As previously posted I bought a Ukelele off trademe for maks to play with as its the perfect size for her to have a little fun with. I picked her up from Kindy and told her I had a guitar fro her and said that it was in my bedroom. 40 mins later once we got home and going up in the lift to my aparment she mentioned where her guitar was andno sooner were we through the front door did she make straight for my bedroom and the expression on her face when she saw it lying on my bed next to mine did she hurl herself towards it grabbing it and running out saying "Daddy, this is MY guitar.."
So we set about having a little jam session as she plucked and strumed the strings.
The excitement she had was that she ran to show PohPoh when she walked in the front door and for the rest of the night didn't put it down until bath time where she couldn't take it.
But i'm so glad she loves it and quite possessive over it when her cousin came round to play. Most time now when I sit down to play mine she'll run to grab hers.
All n all for $20.50 its been a good purchase

DEFEAT

The All Blacks as they did in 1999's rugby world cup choked at the crucial time and lost once again to France.
It was a shocking defeat and left me unable to watch &/or enjoy Bathurst 1000. I woke up Sunday morning and felt I could just curl up in bed and pretend nothing had happend, just left me ripped.

To make things worse, Ford won bathurst for a second year running so in my words I had a really bad day for sport.

Today I adorn black suited clothes as I mourn.

Mks update 1st Oct 2007

Picked the Princess up from kindy where I walked out to the playground and ran into her coming around the corner but she didn't run to me for the usual hug instead looked up and said "I'm all wet" Hoping that it was a puddle she'd sat in that was not to be the case as she'd unfortunately wet her pants. We are training her fully on the potty now and gone away from putting her in nappies.
A quick change and we were off in the car on the way home where we went through the usualy songs and games of where the boats and trains are all the way until we got back home. We went to see her grandparents where she wet her pants on the sofa so I took her upstairs and into the bath seeing as though we were going out for dinner with the Family. At the restaurant we were waiting for Aunty kaz and Cousing Danika to arrive as Maks anxiously peered out the window looking for them as she sat on her grandad's lap. Once the two got together it was a mission the entire evening, starting with playing with the cutlery and crockery to running around the restaurant laughing and screaming joy's of excitement as they chased each other endlesly. Did manage during that time to eat some food too remarkably but the two love their time together playing games.
The following morning we went to the airport to see YeaYea off as she blew kisses from the upstairs observation deck then we went to great aunty Yeemah's house where Danika and maks did painting, chase each other aronud the garden picking flowers, we had a tea-party and they learnt' tiddly winks.
We left for home sometime after 3pm where she slept in the car and then on my shoulder after we got home.
After the nap, Mom and Danika came around where the games started all over again.
Had somewhat of a restless night as Danika stayed the night and the two although both exhausted didn't know when to call it quits when bed time came. I went to bed with maks beside me and had a restless night as woke up several times with maks using my back as a pillow or throwing her leg's over my shoulders or rolling over and pushing me over the edge of my bed. So She woke up feeling nice and refreshed while I woke with red eyes and still in much need of sleep. When she finally woke up by prying my eyes open only after confirming she'd woken me she slid off the bed and 5 seconds later shrieks of laughter came as her an Danika went about their usual play time.
