Presidents Cup

Well the US took the presidents cup this last weekend. Michael Campbell played exceptionally well representing New Zealand proudly, even after Gary Player introduced him as an Australian at the opening ceremony. While the internationals didn't quite take the win this year following last years draw called between both teams due to available sunlight on the Sunday singles we still have much to be proud of some excellent play by all players.

Mak Update Sept 25th 2005

Well she's even bigger now and enjoying solids now with a passion. She loves chewing on anything she can get her hands on including bending over to chew on her left foot. She's almost sitting up on her own managing a few seconds before loosing her balance but longer if she's trying to knaw at her feet. We have a busy day today, with her waking up at 7am this morning asking for her breakfast then sitting back to enjoy the live coverage of the Presidents cup golf. She makes her daddy proud that we enjoy the same good things in life :-) just have to wait a few weeks for Bathurst now hahahaha where we'll be cheering "Go the Holden!!"
We went to dress mart today with danielle but there wasn't anything worth looking at for Princess at JK's &/or Pumking patch but daddy saw lots of things at barkers he liked. But the only thing I bought was a Boss burger combo from McDonalds, hmmm yummy, unhealthy but hey what's a guy to do. Don't plan to introduce Princess to McDonalds for many many years as don't believe it proper to have kids eating that kind of food untill they know what it is to eat properly cooked whole foods.
Anyway, Princess is well and a happy joyful little girl who is contantly growing and the race is on to see who'll have a full set of hair first, her or her cousin.

Jokes on who?

Have you ever heard a joke so many times you've forgotten why you found it funny in the first place? and then you hear it again and then it hits you and you can remember why it made you laugh? Possibly its because I'm so tired due to lack of sleep that I see things clearly now and realise how that there are certain times in life where time can feel like it stands still, such as love at first sight... that's something everyone know's but what you have to realise is that after time stands still, after a while the world races to catch up with everything else. Backstepping through all these years without certainty, sleep deprevation has aided in clear visual thought and that's what the joke is here..

When S**T hits the fan

Ever wonder who came up with the quote "When S**T hits the fan"?
As obsurd as it is the truth to the matter is that its very true, just depends on whether or not the fan is spinning at the time.
So whom ever thought it was a good idea to throw kaka onto a fan either has a very sad life or bored enough to try something stupid which we can respect I guess.
Albeit, the fact is that when the kaka does hit the fan it really HITS THE FAN, but the confusing matter is why it all comes as one, all the negativity just snowball's from there. Needless to say I'm not having one of the best weeks at the moment, but will force a smile and push on nonetheless.
Positive thought of the day, Still haven't checked my lotto ticket...who knows

The Choices we make

In times to come and time's that have past us by there will always be looming in the air choices that will altimately affect our lives. Where do we stand? what road do we take? will the decision we make be the right one? what sacrifices will be made? how will it affect those around us? who makes the decision/s?
How do we know the decion we make will benefit those we love?
I don't pretend to sit here and know all the answers for I'll be the first to correct your error in judgement however what I do know is that to worry about the impending pathway is like sitting in a rocking chair, You just rock back and forth never getting anywhere.
I'm now reminded of something someone once told me, The more difficult something is the more rewarding it is in the end. So step forth tomorrow and reer your head and I shall smile thee down to the ground with grit for you shall not wither me.

Wiesmann GT

I have to admitt that after viewing this vehicle perform a few weeks ago on BBC's Program Top Gear it was fair to say that I was widly impressed not only but its design but its performance and handling aspect as well.
For me its not the traditional design that I would find appealing however the look of it has grown on me.
But the picture is above for you to make your own decision

Michael Campbell

It doesn't seem too long ago now that I was writing to congratulate Michael Campbell for taking the win at the US Open. And now to come here again to welcome yet another amazing win at the HSBC world matchplay taking the win over Paul McGinley 2&1 taking a tidy sum of $1million pounds.

Good on ya mate and well done

His name now joins another great New Zealand golfer, Sir Bob Charles, who's name now appears on the cup. His name appears above Ernie Else (The big easy) who's won it for the past three years straight but was unfortunately out of play due to an injury.

Now after watching the rull replay on sky sport I'm more than eager to hit the golf course... after some drills on the range to sort out my short game.

Back again...

With that I don't mean myself, but it looks as though the Labour govt are back in the drivers seat. This year was the first time I didn't vote for either labour or National instead pushing my vote to Act which I felt very comfortable doing.
Well not going to go into it any further...
Well its been about a week since my last update with not much to advise as still doing much the same. The only things that I did differently this week was go to Tim Tam's 21st birthday party on friday night after a few work drinks with my team. I needed the drinks on friday as one of my accounts was stolen from me for what would've been a very sizable commission, a commission payout that is very rare in our business and it was stolen from me. I've spoken with management to my anguish about having this account stolen from me so with hope I'll hear back from them tomorrow morning.
But not going to worry, as to worry about something is like swinging back and forth in a rocking chair, gives you something to do but doesn't get you any where.

Still here...

If your a regular visitor here you may have noticed my bogging becoming less frequent which is mostly due to me being absolutely shattered will little energy left to type let alone log on. But here I am sitting watching a documentary on the discovery channel as there's not much else on and I will not degrade myself to watching Desperate Housewives, my life hasn't gotten that sad yet :-)
However its getting pretty close but I'm not complaining, there's always the sports channel MAW HAW HAW

$13m apartment deal goes unconditional

07.09.05
By Anne Gibson

A much-flagged deal by listed property specialist Blue Chip to buy $13.4 million of Auckland apartments has gone unconditional.

Blue Chip is buying 51 apartments and 22 car parks at the Darlinghurst, Guardian, Unilodge, Courtney Mews, Portland and The Crescent apartment buildings from Empress Leisure.

It will pay $11.7 million in cash and the rest by issuing 1.4 million shares at $1.20.

Although Blue Chip announced the deal earlier this year, a short time later the deal failed to go unconditional.

Blue Chip has also bought two strata title floors in a Sydney commercial property at Walsh Bay from Australian developer Tesrol.

The floors will gain income by being leased to business clients and will house the head office of Blue Chip's Australian subsidiary, Blue Chip Financial Solutions.

The company paid A$6.490 million ($7 million) for the two floors, with A$4.1 million cash and the remainder in 2.3 million Blue Chip shares to be issued at $1.10 each.

In a third deal, a Blue Chip subsidiary bought New Zealand Finance & Investments. There is a minimum price of $3 million and a maximum of $6 million, depending on performance.

Payment will be made partly by issuing 2.5 million Blue Chip shares.

Fire in the belly

A large rump steak followed by a nice sauna put fire in my belly.
Feeling relaxed and refreshed now ready to take on tomorrow, I'd like to say that it was enough to hold me down for the remainder of the week but a sauna took out the last remaining energy left in me. So hopefully there will be a nice long sleep ahead of me and then i'll let you know how that went... Cheers for now.

Fathers Day

Today I celebrated my first of what I hope will be many more Fathers Day's. It began early around 6am when I was stirred by my daughter gazing back up at me as I peered into her cot where I was greeted with a big smile. The best fathers day present any dad could receive is the smile of thier childs face. After I prepared her breakfast we lay back and had a few laughs before we both dropped off to sleep until 9am.
We joined Karyn, Jake and Danika for brunch down at Mecca in the viaduct where I had a very enoyable meal with Princess, then we went for a nice walk around viaduct basin and down princess wharf with Danika running around keeping us all on our toes.
After than princess and I lay down for a nap as it was all very tiring pushing a big trundler around and I'm sure its pretty hard being pushed around to hehehehe
The afternoon was filled with a quick run up to the Mad butcher and back then Princess was having a few laughs so the house chores to some time to get through... ok I didn't really do any hahahahaha
At the moment she's been fed and bathed and is fast sleep in her bed which is where I'm about to head, night night ya'll
