Anniversary

Tomorrow, Kylie and Robin two very good friends of mine are celebrating their anniversary. It doesn't seem that long ago Kylie was walking down the garden path in her wedding dress with Robin dressed to the nines in official formal fireman's uniform. Congrat's to both of you and now you have a a new baby boy who probably needs a sibling (hint hint nudge nudge)

Knock Knock...

December is closing in and with every day that closes a new one opens the door to a brand new day which means that we are getting closer to the release of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C S Lewis, filmed here in New Zealand. I have to admit that I haven't read many books in my life and would say that over the past 5 years are more partial to biographies. Anyhow this is my all time favourite and the only book I've read more than 3 times, except for my niece's childrens books which are short enough to commit to memory. I've seen the trailer on the net but wasn't clear, picture kept freezing but what I saw was most impressive and can't wait to see it on the big screen.

Mak update 26th October

Well its been a while since my last mak update or an update at all so here I am at long last to say the princess has a new name. Well not a new name but having a chinese background all my cousins and niece have chinese names. A little background to begin with, my chinese name is Choi Jol (I think its spelt correctly) my sisters name is Fong Young, Her daughter Danika is Mie Young and Princess's name is Mie Kie sounded out as (mee-kee). The Mie means 'Beautiful' so I'm told and we're unsure of what the Kie part stands for but I have been advised that its along the lines of calmness or an henhancement to beautiful. I like both actually so I'm happy to stick with both of those eluded meanings.
I'm also happy to say that she's creating quite a cute little personality with smiles that could melt the biggest ice berg and inquisitive expressions that show meticulous concerntration to figure out her surroundings including her left hand... no her right hand... no her left hand... hang on what are those 5 wiggley things 'hey' I can use them to pick things up and throw them.
Her little chuckles while short can make us laugh for much longer.

Mak update 15th October

Well I'm happy to say that Princess is now 6 months old.
As at the time i'm typing this she's exactly 6 months, 1 day, 1 hour and 28 minutes.
Right at the moment she's sleeping after an exhausting day, so as a summary of todays events it all began with princess waking up at 8am where we lay in bed laughing as she happily played with toy giraffe and teething ring. Then it was time for a nice bath. Now that she can sit up unassisted she loves playing in her bath and splashing the ater all over and everywhere, so needless to say I had to change after that :-) then on the breakfast menu it was milk as an appetizer followed by the main course Pumpkin and sweet corn which she devoured quickly. Then we went for a walk and saw the new holden coupe (monaro) down queen street which she liked very much, in fact it was she who pointed it out to me!! so she know's how to make her daddy proud hahaha. Anyway, after our walk we came home for a quick nap before picking simon and yonne up to take them out to the airport as they are going to thailand on holiday for the next two weeks (Safe travels guys). Following our visit to the airport (Coincidently princess & I will be visiting again shortly inside the month) we went to see Grandad and Majorie. After a while princess got a little tired so we decided to come home. Once home she woke with a laugh and a smile before a few cries to signify she was hungry so it was time for dinner (apples). We watched abit of telle before she decided it was time for bed.

The General lee lives

Tonight I went to see the Dukes of Hazard...
I have to admit that being so close to the original tv series I was ok by the remake. Ok well I have to say that the story line was weak at best but they made good my decent driving and of course, the General Lee. I was abit concerned that they didn't show how the general lee came to be but hey, its a movie so there pushed for time and can't waste time getting into it, oh well.
The thing that I really liked is how Bo Duke played by actor Sean William Scott created a relationship with the car so well I was envious of their relationship and long to have that kind of endearing qualities to a car. The driving wasn't too bad either and great to see a rally without seeing any Evo's or WRX's - just pure mussle that a hemi can output.
If you managed to get past the gorgeous girls and the General Lee you'll notice a few other things like... a movie so if you love mussle cars, tits n arse then I'd recommend viewing.

bathurst weekend

Well it was a long afternoon...evening watching the Battle of the mighty V8's racing round the course for what is "BATHURST" where it was another grand victory for Holden for the 7th year straight, well done to Mark Skaife whom took the win.
Mark has won the race up the mount for a successive 5 times now (I think) and drives for Holden HSV.
Now I have to state that I'm glad Ambrose is leaving the supercars and heading the america's nascar as his ignorance and style of driving is one of the worst on the circuit. Today at Bathurst, halfway up the mount after a recent re-start (safety car) Ambrose blocked Murphy by not alllowing him room to move round the corner which left murph no other movement than to clip ambrose and spin him into the wall. Oh well that's my bitch for the day, just not happy bout the outcome, but if murph didn't win I'm happy it went to holden, and even better, a another kiwi lad came in second, also driving a holden

Mak Update October 9th

Well she has two teeth that have broken through on her bottom gums now, they have been there for a short while now but I've been too tired at night to update my web. I can't even recall if I've mentioned she can sit up by herself now either, but she sure can. She was able to sit on my lap lastnight while we were watching dvd's and laughing, we did the same today but we were watching Bathurst and yes Holden won for the 7th year straight!!! Go the Holden!!!!
Greg 'the legend' murphy was up for a hat-trick win on the mount but with near to 12 laps left to go he was wiped out by Ambrose therein taking out any chance of a win. The win went to mark skaife, another holden and previous winner at Bathurst.
The reason i'm mentioning this in maksupdate is that when Ford wiped out murph she was the first to scream before I did at what had happend almost in disgust of what had happend and upset to the point that murph won't make his hat-trick. Never could I be so proud in my little darling.
She's talking so much more lately and her personality is truly beginning to shine through now with big smiles and i love it when she reaches out to her dad for a hug.

MacGyver

Now that The Dukes of hazard has been made into a movie I've found myself pondering whether to see it at the movies or wait for it to come out on dvd. But in the mean time I'm sitting back watching another childhood tv program "MacGyver".
I've got the first complete season on dvd which my sister has loaned me and I've enjoyed watching them over and over again cos its always fun re-living your childhood programs. They are even replaying Knight Rider at lunch time on TV3 now, probably the first program that really got me into cars following on from the General Lee.

For those MacGyver fanatics out there here's some trivia, What is his first name?
(If ya don't know I'll post it in a few days if I get enough comments to do so)

What will they bring back next?

What I would like to see are quality programming for kids cos today's shows just don't cut the mustard. I'm what's with the wiggles song "Hot Potato hot potato..." I mean come on people - those are the ONLY words, how long did it take them to write that? and as for Barney, well don't you just wanna kill the purple bugger.
We need something like the Muppets and Fraggle Rock which were great.
The best show I see for kids nowadays is Australia's High 5, I mean how cute are those 3 girls, I hear there are two guys in the group too but I've never noticed them hahahaha

But for now I'm going to enjoy watching MacGyver

Mak Update Oct 2nd 2005

Picked Princess up from donne's about 9-10am still feeling some serious affects from the night before. Be we fought on and have a great fun day together joining Aunty Kaz, Jake and cousin Danika at the Auckland Museum where I haven't been for most likely the better half of a decade. While we didn't get even close to reviewing 1/4 of the displays it was mainly focussed on where danika would run too, although Kaz did want to see some specific displays which I'm unsure if we got to all of them as the Museum was closing. Didn't think we were there that long but one thing was known and that is the temperature in that place was like a furnace.
We came back home for dinner which Princess polished off eagerly which was good to see, oh by the way, shes able to sit up on her own now, but still doesn't like tummy time. After dinner she was down for the count for the remainder of the eveing which allowed dad to watch "24" only one of his favourite programs. Series four, if you've been overseas and seen it-keep it too yourself.
Princess must have been tired too for we both woke up at 9am this morning after a great sleep, then we had breakfast together. We just chilled out today at jakes house playing games and watching Shrek 2 before coming home for an afternoon feed and then we had a nap. Donne came by too pick princess up and then daddy sat back to have his dinner whilst watching Top Gear, another of Daddy's favourite tv programs.
Tonights episode was yet another race with jeremy driving a maclaren and richard and james flying from London to New Castle and then a ferry overnight to Norway. The Maclaren is a great peice of powerful machinery that will burn through a full tank of gas at full throttle in 19 minutes, Grunt Buster.
Now its time to pop across the road to help settle an ice cream craving and then its off to bed, so its good night from me.

What went down this weekend?

Well the terrible part of the weekend is that there was no golf played, its now been about a month since my lastround and I'm getting a little edgy bout it.
Anyway, the weekend started with after work drinks on friday night where feeling pretty stressed from a terrible two weeks of bad luck I used the bar tab to get my fill on a months drinks and pour them all into one night of good fun drinking. Standing at the bar with my good friends I ordered Two beers (imported naturally) and three bourbons, then two vodka lime soda's for my mates. Great thing is that the drinks are all on the company so when you miss commission it helps alittle better.
Next order was 30 mins later with 4 bourbons which i slowed down and finished off over the next hour before we all moved on to the next pub where it was my first taste of corona's, 4 o' em actually.
Head starting to spin off in different directions it was time to go home... skip forward a few hours....
Lets not go there
